Position: HR Manager

About Buzz Women:

Buzz Women ( is a non-profit based in Bangalore that enables rural women by making knowledge, skills and tools available at the doorsteps of these women towards economic, social, personal and ecological empowerment. This means women who go through our intervention are financially literate (97%), save more money (84%), become more confident (47%), start or expand enterprises(73%), come together as sisters in their communities, take charge of their personal and community problems (71%) and find their own solutions. 

We have reached 2.25 lakh women in the last 8 years with 3500 women community volunteers in 5 districts of Karnataka. We have also been able to franchise the model to The Gambia and Georgia. They aim to reach 1 crore women by 2030 in all 30 districts of Karnataka and are looking for funders to support this mission.

Overview of the role :

Buzz is a growing organisation with ambitions to scale. We are looking for a people manager who can support the current and future institutional responsibilities through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital. 

  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the Institution 
  • Engage in periodic people planning based on the requirements of operations 
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process 
  • Nurture a positive working environment 
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance 
  • Maintain compensation and benefits program 
  • Assess training needs for the development of a thriving human resource and liaise with experts to get the capacity building/coaching done for the team 
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics 
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management 
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues 

We’d like you to have: 

  • An incredible drive and intrinsic motivation for people management 
  • A proven track record in setting-up and managing large teams in the development sector 
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the field of people management in the development sector especially in managing field teams 
  • A strong and active network of partners for recruitment for development sector 
  • Ability to be organised and make data driven decisions 
  • Graduate/Post Graduate degree with minimum 7 years of experience 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Language skills – English, Kannada 
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of activities and lead
